Vlad - Thinking of you
I'm pale, dear, just thinking of you
The blood rushes straight to my head.
When I think of you - I see red,
Knowing your temper, what you might do.
The first time I met you, I knew that we two
Were entwined - by each other were fed.
I'm pale, dear, just thinking of you
The blood rushes straight to my head.
When we're alone, dear, we do nothing but coo
But when you are gone, I feel dread,
I fear we will never be wed,
Not live together (nor be quite dead)
I'm pale, dear, just thinking of you.

ReplyDeleteThanks, all. Glad you've enjoyed my little poem.
ReplyDeleteI am half-Hungarian..and hate vampires and vampire lore..perhaps because it was always such a deadly joke.
ReplyDeleteBut your poem is delightful! Makes me proud to be ....of that culture...except for the vampires.
LOL!
Hugs,
Lady Nyo
There is something still seductive about the vampire mythos after all this time. Good work!
ReplyDeleteAww... the sweetness followed by that sense of helplessness despair... so well written, Ben!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely Rondel, one of my favorite forms, so happy to see it! The piece itself is quite a dark love tale, your melody was quite taking. Much enjoyed! ~ Rose
